A peaceful nursing home on the edge of a quiet South Devon village.
Bramble Down gives you an idyllic countryside location. The home looks out over rolling farmland just outside Denbury, a beautiful village located between Totnes and Newton Abbot. This tranquil setting is reflected inside the nursing home, which has been purpose-built to offer accessible and spacious accommodation for up to 32 people (registered for 40 if people wish to share). We provide residential and nursing care with a nurse on duty at all times.
Life at Bramble Down nursing home
The main lounge is the heart of the home, with a mock fire place giving a cosy feel. This is a sociable space where we often enjoy a lively discussion or two! Large French doors open out onto our relaxing courtyard garden, with a water fountain, sensory elements and several bird tables.
Back inside, our dining room has recently been refurbished and has plenty of room for us to sit down to delicious, homecooked meals together. There is a lounge area at one end, which is perfect for quieter moments.
A varied activities programme
We also have an additional lounge and a light-filled conservatory with views of the garden, both of which are often used for activities. Our activities co-ordinators do a great job organising a wide range of clubs and events - choose from arts and crafts, cookery, quizzes, gardening projects and more. We also love to welcome visitors, such as entertainers, children from local schools and a whole variety of animals. Our interactive pet cat and dog toys are always popular and provide a great sense of comfort.
Our beautiful grounds
We are lucky to have attractive grounds around the home, with a lawned area and mature trees to the front and our courtyard garden at the back. This is where you’ll find our summer house, which has a bar so you can enjoy a drink with garden views.
Bedrooms at Bramble Down
We have 18 bedrooms upstairs with 14 downstairs, all with ensuite WC and hand basin facilities as well as two passenger lifts. The rooms are light and airy, and we encourage personalising these with keepsakes such as photographs. Each bedroom has a profiling bed which can be raised at either end at the touch of a button for the most comfortable position, helping to promote independence and aid nursing care. Our communal bathrooms are also fully equipped with specialist bathing and showering facilities.
Nursing care at Bramble Down
Bramble Down has a nurse on duty at all times. This means we can support people who need additional nursing care, including residents with physical disabilities, those who need rehabilitation after an operation or illness, or those with long-term health conditions.
