From the royal jet to care
What a difference ten years can make!
At the beginning of the decade Gary was a member of cabin crew to the Royal Family, Prime Minister and heads of government. Serving afternoon tea on Royal Tours before then serving his country in Afghanistan. Following these incredible years of service, Gary moved on to a different type of service by opening his own pub on Dartmoor, thereby becoming a hotelier, chef, barman and accountant all at once. Gary found himself juggling jobs, books and customers and really enjoyed the experience.
A year ago Gary's world changed forever as he had to let go of the pub. This led to Gary putting all his years of experience into a different type of service by becoming a chef in a care home. Over the following year Gary took on roles in our homes as a carer, laundry person, kitchen porter and now as our Group Training Manager. Gary says he's loved every minute and feels he now has a different 'Royal Family' to look after with a different group of customers to support and a truly amazing group of colleagues.
At the centre of everything Gary has done, is care.
