Lisa Cross who works at Parkland House was voted a finalist for Best Activity Provider/ Lifestyle Lead (sponsored by NAPA).
This award goes to a person within a care home or community setting with more than 50% of people living with dementia who has made an exceptional contribution to the quality of life, health and happiness of all the people they work with through the activities they facilitate.
Louise, Managing Director, and Lisa had an amazing day in Sheffield celebrating Lisa being nominated finalist at the 14th National Dementia Care Awards. Whilst she was not the overall winner, we are so proud of her achievement.
It was an added bonus to meet her former tutor from The University of Bradford Dementia Care Mapping course last year. The tutor had been nominated as a finalist in the Most Inspiring Dementia Care category.
Professor Simard spoke and accepted her award for her lifetime work in dementia studies. She is author of “The End-of-Life Namaste Care Programme for People with Dementia.”
She closed the award ceremony wishing everyone to continue to flourish, caring with such compassion and being proud to part of a day celebrating outstanding people. Namaste.
